The College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) is committed to protecting the public by ensuring that only qualified individuals hold themselves out as Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) or Voluntary Roster (VR) Affiliates in Ontario.
The CMLTO recently encountered an issue regarding an individual who has been holding themselves out as a CMLTO Registrant. This individual’s name is Elizabeth Nwafor, and the CMLTO confirms that they have never been a CMLTO Registrant nor a VR Affiliate.
Their claim was identified through a potential employer’s proactive review of the application documents and consultation of the CMLTO Public Register, a reliable and up-to-date resource for verifying the registration status of all MLTs and VR Affiliates. Visit the Public Register here.
We continue to strongly encourage employers to use the Public Register to verify the credentials of any MLT or VR Affiliate. Additionally, if you have any doubts regarding the authenticity of CMLTO produced documents, we encourage you to engage with our Registration or Professional Conduct department teams.
The CMLTO will continue to take appropriate legal measures to uphold professional standards and protect the public. If you have concerns about someone falsely claiming to be a VR Affiliate or MLT, please contact the College at professionalconduct@cmlto.com.
