College Programs

To carry out its mandate to protect the public, the CMLTO ensures that each registered medical laboratory technologist (MLT) meets their professional strict requirements of this regulated profession, and is committed to Quality Assurance and professional development.

Once an individual is registered with the CMLTO, the Professional Conduct and Quality Assurance programs ensure that they practice their profession in accordance with the CMLTO regulations and standards. Altogether, this is how the CMLTO protects the public’s right to safe, effective, ethical service from Medical Laboratory Technologists in Ontario.

Another key program that helps the CMLTO meet its mandate is Patient Relations, which improves the public’s understanding of the College, the profession, and its role in patient outcomes; and supports MLTs in providing safe, ethical and competent service.
