    • If you have forgotten your Username or password, click the appropriate option and enter your email address. You will receive an email that contains your Username or a link to set your new password.
    • If your account is locked, please contact the Registration team by email at registration@cmlto.com or call us at 416-861-9605.
  2. Click “Renew or Resign Now” at the top of the main login page.
  3. Complete all required renewal sections, which include confirming your contact and employment information, entering your practice hours, self-reporting compliance with the Quality Assurance and Professional Conduct declarations, etc.
  4. Pay the annual fee and submit your renewal. If you do not renew your registration by December 31st, 2026, your renewal fee may be higher than it was in 2026. Please read further for more information.
    • Practising Certificate of Registration fee: $340.00 + HST
    • Non-Practising Certificate of Registration fee: $170.00 + HST
  5. Registrants may pay online with Visa or MasterCard only.
  6. Print your receipt by clicking “Transactions & Receipts”. The receipt serves as proof of your CMLTO registration. You may also confirm your current registration status through the CMLTO Public Register.

During the 2027 Annual Renewal, Registrants will see a few questions about their identity. For any question you can choose “Prefer not to answer,” or you can update your responses in the future through your CMLTO profile. By sharing your information, you help CMLTO strengthen fairness and accessibility for everyone. To learn more please review the CMLTO’s Annual Renewal Update: Sharing Self-Identification Information.

To resign effective January 1, 2027:

You can resign your CMLTO registration for 2027 starting November 1, 2026. Your resignation will take effect on January 1, 2027. Log in using the steps described above. Under “I want to renew as”, select “Resigned”. You will be asked to confirm your decision and your reason for resigning. You must complete the Practice Timelines section to record the hours you worked in 2026. This information will be used if you reapply for CMLTO registration in the future. Please note that:

  • Retirement from your employer does not affect your CMLTO registration. Practising Registrants must fulfill their professional obligations regardless of their employment status, including meeting the Quality Assurance Program requirements.
  • When you resign your CMLTO registration, you can no longer legally use the protected title “Medical Laboratory Technologist” in Ontario.

If you do not complete the annual renewal or resignation processes by December 31st, you will be sent notice of CMLTO’s intention to suspend your registration.

Please note that, following the Board of Directors’ deliberation on the current proposed By-Law changes related to registration fees, there may be a phased increase in registration fees effective January 1, 2027. If you do not renew your registration by December 31st, late fees will apply in addition to the revised registration fee. Registrants were notified of this via email on September 17th and additional information is available here with more details.

Information regarding registration renewal is available here. If you have any questions, please contact the Registration team by email at registration@cmlto.com.
