The College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) has published its 2024 Health Human Resources (HHR) Report. This annual report offers a comprehensive analysis of registration data from medical laboratory technologists (MLTs) across Ontario.
The 2024 report highlights:
- MLT employment status and specialties

The CMLTO collects this data as part of its regulatory mandate during initial registration and the annual renewal process. The information is submitted to the Ontario Ministry of Health to inform its Health Professions Database, and to the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) to support the Health Workforce Database (HWDB).
The insights provided by this report are essential for informed health human resources planning across the province and at the national level.
