CMLTO was pleased to attend another LABCON this past week in Vancouver. Hosted annually by Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS), the conference brings together laboratory professionals from across Canada to share knowledge, explore emerging technologies, discuss developments impacting the profession, and connect with colleagues from a wide range of practice settings.
Throughout the conference, CMLTO staff attended a variety of speaker sessions, panel discussions, and workshops covering topics relevant to the medical laboratory profession. These sessions provided valuable opportunities to hear directly from professionals and subject matter experts working across the sector.
CMLTO staff also appreciated the opportunity to participate in a workshop on traditional medicine tie making, where participants were guided in creating their own traditional medicine ties using tobacco and sage. The workshop provided an opportunity for reflection and learning about Indigenous traditions, culture, and approaches to wellness and healing.
In addition to the educational programming, the conference provided an important opportunity for CMLTO to engage with medical laboratory professionals from across the country. These conversations support the College’s ongoing understanding of emerging issues, current trends, and the evolving needs of the profession.
CMLTO attends LABCON to stay informed about developments within the medical laboratory field and to strengthen connections with professionals and organizations across Canada in support of its public protection mandate.
