The Canadian Alliance of Medical Laboratory Professionals Regulators (CAMLPR), which represents provincial regulatory bodies for Medical Laboratory Technologists across Canada, is inviting expressions of interest from qualified professionals to serve as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). These opportunities support the development and maintenance of high-quality, nationally consistent entry-to-practice examinations.

SMEs may contribute in several ways, including:

Examination Item Development:
Developing clear, high-quality, and psychometrically sound exam questions aligned with the CAMLPR Field of Practice Competency Profiles and examination blueprint. Item developers help ensure exam content reflects current practice, remains unbiased, and meets established standards.

Standard Setting Panels:
Participating in the evidence-based process for establishing defensible cut scores. This includes evaluating item difficulty, contributing to consensus discussions, and reviewing candidate performance data to support recommendations.

CAMLPR Examination Panel:
Reviewing performance data and psychometric analyses, contributing to decisions about item suitability, and providing informed recommendations on cut scores and pass/fail rates.

Time commitments vary by role, and CAMLPR maintains an ongoing pool of SMEs to engage as needed for upcoming projects.

Those interested in supporting this important national work are invited to complete a brief expression-of-interest form, which takes approximately 2–3 minutes to complete. All responses are confidential and used solely for recruitment purposes.
