UPDATE: CMA-accredited MLT education programs

11 July 2017

The Allied Health Program Accreditation Working Group (AHPAWG) has selected Health Standards Organization (HSO) and its affiliate Accreditation Canada (AC) to deliver accreditation services for medical laboratory technology education programs in Canada, following the end of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) conjoint accreditation services.
As CMLTO has previously reported, in January 2016 the CMA announced it would be divesting itself of accreditation services for allied health educational programs as of February 1, 2018. Following the announcement, the AHPAWG was formed to select a replacement accreditation provider for those allied health programs.
Please read the memo (English PDF; French PDF) forwarded to MLT education programs this week outlining next steps and the transition period.
