CMLTO's Delegation Guidelines updated

CMLTO's Delegation Guidelines for Medical Laboratory Technologists are intended to provide MLTs with a better understanding of the principles of delegation and their responsibilities as delegators or delegatees. Review the updated version (PDF) here.

CMLTO launches consultation: Voluntary Roster criteria

Since the inception of the CMLTO Voluntary Roster of Registered Medical Laboratory Technicians (“the Voluntary Roster”), the CMLTO has published the minimum criteria for medical laboratory assistants and technicians to be included on the Voluntary Roster. These criteria were introduced in 2015 and updated in 2018. CMLTO reviews the Voluntary Roster criteria annually with the intent of evolving them to mirror the MLT registration requirements.

Stakeholders are invited to comment on the proposed amendments to the CMLTO Voluntary Roster criteria, which were approved by Council at its September meeting. Learn more by clicking here.

Professional Portfolio audit ongoing

Registrants are reminded that the Professional Portfolio audit is still ongoing. MLTs selected for the portfolio audit must submit their completed Stage 2 Professional Portfolio by December 31, 2021.

In July, the registrants selected for the audit were notified by postal mail and email. Registrants can also check the Important Messages box at the top of their portfolio. Those selected will see a message stating, “Your profile was selected for audit. Please submit your completed Stage 2 Professional Portfolio by December 31.”

All Practising registrants are reminded that they must maintain an up-to-date Professional Portfolio which includes the Stage 1 and Stage 2. As part of the renewal process, all Practising registrants self-report compliance in maintaining their portfolios.
