{"id":7651,"date":"2025-09-17T15:42:27","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T19:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cmlto.com\/?p=7651"},"modified":"2025-09-17T15:42:27","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T19:42:27","slug":"cmlto-recognizes-world-patient-safety-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cmlto.com\/fr\/cmlto-recognizes-world-patient-safety-day\/","title":{"rendered":"CMLTO Recognizes World Patient Safety Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On September 17, the World Health Organization (WHO) leads World Patient Safety Day, a global initiative to raise awareness about the importance of making healthcare safer for everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year\u2019s theme, \u201cPatient safety from the start,\u201d emphasizes the need for safety to be built into every part of health systems \u2013 from the first point of care through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Safe healthcare depends on strong systems and reliable processes. At the core of those systems are medical laboratory services. Every day, Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) in Ontario perform and interpret laboratory tests that provide critical information for diagnosing illnesses, monitoring treatment, and guiding clinical decisions. Without accurate and timely lab results, safe and effective care is not possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO), our statutory mandate is public protection.
