New CMLTO Privacy Section
Privacy is a hot topic in Ontario these days. People are ‘privacy aware’ and have clear expectations about how their personal information should be used.
Legislation has changed and the CMLTO wants members to understand what the changes mean and how the legislation affects the MLT profession.
Provincial legislation specifically governs the collection, use and disclosure of personal health information. Federal legislation governs the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by organizations involved in commercial activities.
These developments impact how the College and its members do business.
With this in mind, we are pleased to introduce a section devoted specifically to privacy.
Tools, resources and links are available to help members understand the privacy principles. With this information, members can ensure their practices are compliant with the legislation.
This section also contains the CMLTO’s voluntary privacy code, recently adopted by Council.
Take your time and enjoy exploring the new material.
