Online membership renewal begins

The 2013 MLT membership renewal period begins at 5:00 pm on November 1, 2012.

Renewals must be completed online here by December 31, 2012. Please note that 2013 renewal fees remain the same as 2012 rates.

Members who have not received a 2013 renewal notice should contact the CMLTO at 416-861-9605 [toll-free in Canada: 1-800-323-9672]and press "1", or registration@cmlto.com.

Info session for internationally-educated MLTs

HealthForceOntario.ca is hosting an orientation to licensing information session in Toronto on November 23, 2012.

Representatives from educational institutions and CMLTO staff will make presentations about the necessary steps to becoming a registered MLT in Ontario.

Registration renewal information for MLTs

The CMLTO’s Annual Registration Renewal Notice will be sent to you by postal mail at your current address on October 17, 2012.
Online renewal will be available from November 1 and December 31, 2012. Please review and update your profile as necessary.
If you have recently moved, please update your mailing address by visiting www.cmlto-onlineservices.com before October 12, 2012.
Please note that fees remain the same as the 2012 rates.

Kathy Wilkie to present governance webinar

CMLTO Registrar & Executive Director Kathy Wilkie along with Karen Fryday-Field, Consultant, Meridian Edge Management & Governance Consulting, will present a Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation (CLEAR) webinar on October 3, 2012.
“Governing Strategic and Operational Risk” will address the ‘risk universe’ of regulatory bodies and provide a framework for discussion and development of the many subject areas related to risk that face regulatory organizations.

CMLTO Registrar & Executive Director appointed to CLEAR committee

The Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation (CLEAR) recently announced the
appointment of CMLTO Registrar & Executive Director Kathy Wilkie as Co-Vice
Chair of its International Relations Committee. CLEAR is the premier
international resource for professional regulation stakeholders and its broad
membership consists of regulatory boards, colleges, organizations, vendors from
around the world. It promotes regulatory excellence through conferences,
educational programs, publications, and research services for those involved in
professional and occupational regulation. Kathy has been involved in CLEAR’s
various activities for several years.

Health Canada seeks consultation regarding Blood Regulations

Notice to Stakeholders — Health Canada released the Draft Guidance Document Interpreting the Blood Regulations for stakeholder consultation from May 28 to September 24, 2012.

The objective of the consultation on the draft Guidance Document is to obtain stakeholder comments on the guidance text explaining the regulatory provisions of the proposed Blood Regulations.
